Skiving

A week ago I thought skiving meant to waste time .... well it surprised me to learn it was the term used for thinning leather ....I have been doing this by hand with a blade and it is very time consuming but the results are worth it :) Im learning to make shoes ....here is a weeks work....

On the menu today

is scallops :) the first pic is yesterdays attempt ( I added too much transparent to the meat) but I tried again today and was happier with the results . The "ice" is salt and I molded the tiny shells from some real ones .

Spam Beans Eggs n Spam

couldnt resist a bit of Monty python there but is all Ive accomplished today along with some tiny paper bags for my shop . The rest of the day has been spent on trying....yet again ....to organize my room :( when will I learn to put things back where they came from before I finish for the day !

strawberries are tiny !

I made some strawberries for mt store then made a strawberry plant from polymer clay .Also for my store I made eggs and am making egg cartons from air dry clay made from a mix of paper pulp and pva glue , it was hard to figure out how much shrinkage there would be but Im pretty pleased with the results.

the upside down carton hasnt fully shrunk yet but when dry will be the same size as the others :)

Tomatoes cabbage and cauliflower. I guess that will do for fruit n veg but must make some more sweets :)

over the past couple of days Ive bought 2 new houses so I must get this one to some state of finished ...I know it will never be truly finished but Im back working on it :)

more like jelly giants really at 5mm but they were as small as I could manage .I also got my kitchen windows in today :)

Im starting to get back into my minis again after a bit of a break exploring the state, learning how to use my 2 new toys .... a stone rumbler and a tattoo gun or 3 :) unfortunately I cant show anything as its all related to the latest mystery box . So I leave you for now to view a bit of Tasmania :)

 Ive been making polymer clay dolls the 2 above are the smallest so far ....

each one is different ...they are quirky but I like them :)

UFOs

well what can I say...trying to shame myself into getting these finished ;)

 My Daughter and I painted these and I must get around to framing them... I did the flower ...its about an inch square.

Another shot of my woodland scene ...not happy with the water but it will do ....bluebell flowers are made from cold porcelain , toadstools are polymer clay and tiny yellow paper flowers ....the birds nest is a gum nut that has begun to decompose. Anyway the box is small and I have plans for in the lid too ;) aprox 10x 15cm . Ok ....they are out there now ...lets hope it makes me finish them ;)
