Mystery Box (what was I thinking)

As many of you know MiniAussie and I challenge each other every now and again....well it was my turn and I thought it was going to be easy . Haha I had a hard time with this one and have no one to blame but myself (as it was my turn to pick the challenge)

Well there it is ....Im sure Miniaussie's will be better :)

Zip a de doo da

 Some tiny shells I collected ...the lighter is there to show you how small these are . I collected shell grit at the turn of the tide ,then sifted through it looking for shells :)

 Zipper 1 on a pencil case . Its made from a piece of ribbon, braid and a jewelry finding :)

 A sports bag .

 These are the zippers Im very pleased with :)

heres what I made them from ....wire edged ribbon ( I cut the silver bit from the side) ...an added bonus to this is you can cut off the outer edge and uncover some very fine wire :) I then trimmed the silver section back to the size I wanted , glued it to ribbon and added a finding :)

Penguins and Miners.

 Lol heres my attempt at the penguin teapot tutorial....lets just say I adapted mine a bit ...and also tried to make some matching cups. I will have another attempt at this sometime.

 Here is the progress on Dads Mine ,this section is pre war .Dad intends on having 2 sections to the mine; the old way and the modern way of mining.

A little closer :) I think he's doing a great job :)

Today Ive made a few purfume bottles using beads,findings and plastic earing backs. Im really liking the results.

 I bought some resin flatbacks designed for scrapbooking ....

 A little flock some trim and a foam base and they look ok. :)

 Ok heres Dads first attempts at using airdry clay :)

 As you can see they are 1/24th scale miners .....amazing job I think. I cant wait to see them painted .

 My fisrt attempt at using 2 part resin ...quite happy with the results and its a lot less complicated than I expected it to be .

 Attempts at translating jewelry making to a smaller scale....things have to be simplified a lot .

 Here I used "triple thick" on a watch.....as you can see the ink ran, but the strap is looking quite effective.

 I used an empty pill pop out to make the ring box.

This is my attempt at making a template .....the squares are 1cm .....dotted lines = fold , solid lines = cut .

Bits and Bobs

 Ive been making some stands for my jewelers shop just black card with the fronts flocked but they will work.

 More books for a schoolroom project the MET group is doing.

I went looking for clamps!

 Didnt find what I was looking for but couldnt resist these pliers :) great for getting in small spaces :)

I thought Id save myself a lot of time quilling by using a manual shredder to cut strips of paper ...$4 a bargain as my electric one cross cuts the paper so that was going to be an awful lot of gluing :/ I also got myself a fine tipped soldering iron ......guess I will be learning to solder ;) .I also bought one more thing a gollywog tea set :) will show you that another time as I dont want to unpack it yet.
